SPRING SEMESTER 2020- ART I,II,III,IV,V
01/06- 01/10
MONDAY- FRIDAY
Students will complete 5 Still Life drawings this week to get back into the drawing mode after the break. 
Drawings should contain as much detail as time allows and be shaded and blended.
 
01/13- 01/17
MONDAY 
Students will have a demonstration on drawing an antique coffee mill. They will begin by breaking the mill into basic shapes, and making adjustments to create the correct structural drawing of the mill.
TUESDAY- FRIDAY
Students will begin by sketching on practice paper until they are confident in their drawing technique. Then, students will draw the mill on final paper, making sure to draw the mill as large as possible without making it look like it is squeezed onto the page.
 
01/20- 01/24
MONDAY- FRIDAY
Students will continue drawing the coffee mill, adding value, shading, and as much detail as possible.
 
01/27- 01/31
MONDAY- WEDNESDAY
Finish coffee mill drawings. These are due on Wednesday.
 
02/03- 02/07
THURSDAY & FRIDAY
Mixed Media composition: Students will brainstorm ideas for a composition that includes objects with texture and/or detail. After practicing the composition, they will draw it on watercolor paper. Then students will divide the composition into at least 4 sections. Each section will be completed with a different media or technique, including pointillism, pencil shading, colored pencil, oil pastel, watercolor, markers, covering a section with a page from a book and continuing the drawing onto the page, creating a pattern in one section.
 
02/10- 02/14
MONDAY- FRIDAY
Students will continue the Mixed Media project.
 
02/17- 02/21
MONDAY- FRIDAY
Student will continue the Mixed Media project. This will be due on Friday.
 
02/24- 02/28
MONDAY
Students will begin sketching ideas for a project using oil pastels on a canvas. They should brainstorm and research ideas that would be a good option for this project.
TUESDAY-FRIDAY
Students will continue developing ideas for the oil pastel project. Once their ideas are approved the students will begin lightly drawing their ideas onto the canvas.
Once they have sketched their ideas onto the canvas, they will begin adding color to the canvas, beginning with the lightest colors first.
